Wellington Astronomical Society

As a society, we wouldn't be here without the help of lots of people -- both members and others from outside. With that in mind, we'd like to acknowledge all of our members who put time and effort towards making things happen.

Nobody hears about everything that everyone does, so there are certainly people being missed, although not intentionally. If you know of someone (including yourself) who you think deserves special credit, please let us know so we can do something about it.

The image used behind the page header throughout this website is part of a starfield in the Large Magellanic Cloud, through the eyes of the Hubble Space Telescope and released as part of the Hubble Heritage Project. The complete image with a writeup can be found here.

The artist's impression of an asteroid hitting the planet Earth, used as part of the local news icon for some of the notices on this website, was produced by Don Davis. It can be found in the multimedia gallery of NASA's Asteroid and Comet Impact Hazards page. It is used here under the NASA use licensing policy.
